Once you submit the design package for your project, our CAD team processes the drawings and prepares data for upload to our instruments. We produce bespoke drawings so the on-site team receives the exact information they need. Using CAD drawings and specialist software significantly reduces the risk of errors.

During preparation, we thoroughly assess your project's buildability by meticulously reviewing proposed levels and gradients. Any uncertainties are promptly resolved in coordination with you, the designers and all relevant parties. This QA phase allows us to identify and address any issues in advance, preventing errors and delays.

In case of design updates, our office team will react immediately and process all revised drawings in CAD. The latest data is transferred in real time to our setting-out engineers’ instruments via cloud services.

Benjamin joined TopoCrew in 2019 and leads our setting out team, focusing on timely delivery for our clients. He also liaises with our clients’ site and design teams, ensuring that all project requirements are meticulously met, and prepares construction CAD drawings for our site engineers. Benjamin has worked on-site for several years, has a strong engineering background, and is known for his problem-solving mindset.
Janos Szabados
Senior Project Engineer
Janos is an experienced surveyor and site engineer who joined TopoCrew in 2014. He has worked on numerous major projects and has extensive experience in surveying in Central London and providing setting out services for highway construction. He has led TopoCrew's topographical survey team on major projects such as Stratford Gyratory, Oxford Street, and the New Bond Street area.

Since joining our team in 2015, Akos has specialised in highway construction, primarily working in Westminster for the past eight years. As an experienced surveyor and site engineer, he has comprehensive knowledge of various highway construction details and methods. He has been a key member of major surveying projects on Oxford Street and Fenchurch Street.
Cosmin Mocanu
Site Engineer
A core site engineer for TopoCrew since 2019, Cosmin works on major civil engineering and urban development projects across London. He has significant experience on high-profile schemes such as HS2, executing accurate topographical surveys and reliable setting out. His drone pilot’s license expands his skillset to include aerial surveys, making him a highly valuable engineer for any project.

Petr works on key projects such as the Lewisham Market, where his responsibilities include setting out and topographical surveys to ensure accuracy on site. He also provides CAD support to the project team and works closely with contractors to deliver projects according to specification. Patrik Bodacz
Site Engineer
Patrik brings over five years of industry experience, including road construction, foundations, vibro techniques and structural setting out. He is also proficient in surveying, CAD drafting and design, enabling him to contribute both in the field and in technical planning. Patrik ensures our setting out is accurate and reliable, in accordance with the approved design drawings.

SUBMIT YOUR DRAWINGS:
We begin by receiving your drawings in dwg CAD format, including your topographical survey drawings with station information, GA, 3D dwg with 3D polylines, drainage and any additional relevant plans and reports. -
PREPARATION:
We evaluate site safety and security, conduct Risk Assessment and Method Statement, and verify design package completeness. -
PROCESS SETTING OUT DATA:
Our office team diligently prepares setting out data, verifying various aspects of the design package. This includes assessing its coherence, ensuring the absence of potential design flaws, and confirming its completeness and feasibility for construction. Our attention to detail contributes significantly to the success of our projects. -
SITE VISIT:
At the agreed time our site engineer visits your site, meets your team, sets out required levels and positions, and carries out any additional survey task your team may require. -
TIMESHEET SUBMISSION:
A timesheet is sent to you by email for approval at the agreed intervals. -
INVOICE:
We issue the invoice for payment monthly. -
CUSTOMER CARE:
We provide follow-up support for any further questions or additional requests.

Staying on Point with Offset Marks
To comply with safety regulations, we avoid using road pins for setting out. Instead, we use offset marks, which are more durable and offer enhanced longevity.
By using these markings, we ensure that laid kerbs can always be cross-checked against them. This reduces the risk of accidental displacement of road pins or the loss of markings. As a result, our engineers do not need to revisit the site to repeat the setting out process, saving you money.
